About

My background

I’m a contemporary pianist who became passionate about technology out of love for good sound — and because I kept struggling during recording sessions when the technology failed on me. I studied Jazz music composition and arrangement before shifting into the more technical side of things.

I’ve designed and owned recording studios, and worked in others — including RecPublica Studios in Lubrza, Poland. For 10 years I was technical lead for JIMEK, covering orchestras and productions from theatres up to 40,000-seat stadiums, working at the kind of scale where the network has to simply work.

I spent five years as a support expert for audio solutions and a QA engineer for Pro Tools software at Avid — diagnosing exactly the failures I now teach people to prevent. That’s where the shift happened: I didn’t come to networking from a textbook, I came to it because the network kept breaking on me, mid-session, mid-broadcast, mid-show.

I now work independently, training and consulting for teams who run professional AoIP/AVoIP networks — broadcast facilities, AV integrators, and live sound. In my free time I still take on studio and live mixing gigs, to keep the ears (and the gear) moving.

Analysis

I always try to find the root cause of an issue by gathering and analysing the relevant data — not just treating the symptom.

Honesty

I do my best to be open and honest about my work. If something is outside my scope, I’ll say so and connect you with the right specialist.
